Garland can’t search

I can’t type anything in the search box on my Garland theme. Am I doing something wrong?

I just tried in Safari and Firefox 3 and had no problems. What browser and browser version are you using?

Hello again my friend (Aliman from Hawaii)! I’m using Microsoft Internet Explorer… Not sure about the version. I tried Firefox once, and had some kind of problem (I can’t remember what it was) but maybe I’ll try it again.
Also I’m running into another problem now in that many (most?) of the WordPress themes are pushing the sidebars down below the posts. Frustrating. I perfer the three column themes, and I’m getting one or at most two columns. It’s acting weird….

It looks like I may have to upgrade to CCS to adjust widths? It should work without the upgrade, plus I don’t know CCS…

Wow! I just discovered my Home page pushes the right column down, but the Pages, and other views (like clicking on a post title to show only that post, etc.) all show three full columns as normal. How do I fix the home page?

Aloha my friend! I replied to this without really noticing the username.
The sidebar moving to the bottom can be due to a few different things such as a missing tag in a post, or an image that is too wide for the post area or the sidebar. It will not require the CSS upgrade, and actually isn’t fixable that way.
Take a look at this FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/05/30/why-is-my-sidebar-at-the-bottom-of-my-posts/ and I’ll drop by and take a peek at your blog to see if I can find the problem.

First, in the post titled 10% of your brain myth, open it for edit and then put your cursor at the end of the last sentence, “What’s the evidence” (right before the more tag) and hit return.
You always want to put a more tag on its own line, and not within a paragraph, blockquote, ordered or unordered list. It effectively splits a pair of HTML tags so it causes an error. Also, make sure there is no style formatting applied to the more tag such as bold or italic or such.
Do the same with 9/11-the new Pearl Harbor. Move the more tag to a separate line. Also in this one, remove the “bold” formatting from the more tag (you will probably have to do that in HTML view). remove
<strong>before it and ` after it.On McCain furthering… again remove the strong tags from around the more tag (HTML view).
That should do it.
