Garland Theme Download

  So much hype has been created about the garland theme over the past few days. I wanted to give it a try myself, but unfortunately this theme is not available to users who have their individual blog hosting. I even thought of migrating to drupal for checking out the theme, but then I’d have to deal with a whole lot of database migrating issues. Plus nothing can beat the simplicity of using a wordpress blog.

  I’m now desperate to try out this new theme. Are there any plans in the near future to release this theme as a public release? And if it has already been released then I don’t see any download link.

  I don’t see any point in the delay of releasing this theme to the general public. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

  Wait, I correct myself… Somewhere on some other forum I read that wordpress is not going to release the theme until drupal 5.0 is officially released. If that’s the reason, then I agree with it. If not, then I’m waiting for a comment.

  I read that too about them delaying.

  I just think there was a bit of miscommunication as well as not complete understanding of the GPL.

  As an aside, http://gpl-violations.org got mentioned a few days ago on one of the system admin maillists that I read. Not pointing fingers at anyone but it was an interesting read.

  I don’t think I’ll ever GPL anything ever again. :(

  i’m holding out for drupal 5, since the migration tools don’t seem that stable yet, and i’m hoping they improve.

  and no, matt won’t be releasing the theme until 5 is out. at least not officially. the tech savvy among us can find it for download though. do bear in mind though, it’s a really half-a**ed port.

  Well, now Drupal 5.0 is out. Maybe Garland can make its triumphant return? Admin?

  This has to be sent in via a feedback eric.   WordPress.com has not yet made it available for new blogs. Staff have requested that whenever we request a specific theme we do so through a feedback provide a link to it (unnecessary in this case) and that we provide our reasons for requesting it.) Please send in your request via feedback.
