Gateway Flexible Header

  I am trying to use the Gateway theme and its flexible header image stretches, even when I say skip crop.

  Custom Header Image
  The best custom header images are decorative background images. The image will be cropped for small viewports (not scaled down) to fit the available area fixed for height and width. This means header images that work best with this theme are abstract or decorative images.
  In the Customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/, you can choose the behavior of your Custom Header image. Go to Theme Options → General to select either a fixed-position header (default) or a traditional scrolling header.

  When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you.   Thank you. I read those already, but it seems that a flexible header would be a flexible header. Even when I tried the default “suggested” header image, it shows up vertically short.

  Nerts! is all I can say to that. You need Staff help and they have a backlog so please be patient while waiting.

  Haha! Will do. For now, I may switch themes and go back to Gateway later if it will do what I need it to do. Thanks for the help!

  That’s exactly what I would do for the long weekend, which for me is a sing all weekend type of weekend, as I have 2 concerts plus 2 services. So I would switch themes and deal with this next week. :)
