Gateway: Mouse over color change for subtitle

  • Unknown's avatar

    The site title in Gateway changes to white with mouse-over, but not the subtitle which stays dark, and is not clearly visible with my image headers. How to make the subtitle change to white with mouse-over, same as title for better – if brief – visibility?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey again thosnevin!

    Since the Site Tagline (site description) is not a link, you will not be able to anything when you hover with a mouse over that text. You might consider adding a shadow instead.

    .site-description {
        font-size: 1.5em;
        text-shadow: 3px 3px 3px white
    }

    Lovely to hear from you again, darrellschulte, and thanks for this suggestion, it does indeed give the subtitle more definition. I had tried changing subtitle color to black, which didn’t look good because once the custom Google font settles, it was darker and too pronounced underneath the lighter title. Seems there are issues with this and a few other themes passing through several servers when loading – especially with custom fonts and slow connections – that load the default theme’s very thick bold black and large site title title, mentioned before by me and a few others, changing three times before customised settings settle down. So it’s a problem deciding what to do with title and subtitle colors until those issues are resolved.
    Thank you once again, darrell, greatly appreciate all your help.

    Well, it looked good on some pages, not on others. I’ll try something else, ( need to brush up on basic CSS too!).
    Thanks again
