[Gateway Theme] Freehosted WordPress Website CSS and Javascript Help

    Greetings,

Big thanks to everyone working on WordPress and everyone working on The Gateway theme. You work is inspiring to say the least

    The Issue
    I am using The Gateway theme on a free-hosted WordPress.com site: http://www.lovina180.wordpress.com

There are a few problems when I run the website through PageSpeed Insights.

They are all related to CSS / Javascript / Fonts

Is there anyway the developers of the theme can defer Javascript loading by moving it to the footer?

Can you also fix the render-blocking font problem?

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi there!

The JavaScript and other files served by WordPress.com are highly optimised though you’re right that there’s room for improvement, as shown in the results of Google’s PageSpeed tool. We’re aware of this but the changes needed on our end are complex and would not have a huge noticeable impact on your site’s page speed.

Ensuring that all images on your site are optimised would have a much higher impact. We have some tips and tricks for optimising your images here:

    Optimize Your Images

Let me know if that information helps you out or if you have any extra concerns.
