Gateway Theme: Get rid of "Read More"
-
With the Gateway theme, I’m having a bit of a problem. I would like for my first few images to show up as well as the text in the home page. Right now, it’s only displaying the text as you can see here. Could I possibly remove the “Read More” text all together or enable some way for the images to show up as well?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Additionally: In the post editor, I’ve inserted the “Read More” tag where I actually want it to be and have updated the post. Unfortunately, it still isn’t displaying any of the images or the amount of text I want it to in the Home Page.
Thank you

Hi there,
The default behavior of Gateway theme is to only display post excerpts/summaries of specific length on the home page. This is hard-coded, and cannot be modified unless theme designers make a change.
However, you can manually use the Excerpt functionality to display full post text (or the amount you want) on specific posts.
When editing/adding a post, expand the Excerpt section in the left sidebar. Copy/paste post content in the excerpt box, and it will be shown on the home page.
I’m afraid, images still won’t be included, only post text. Inserting images before Gateway cuts-off the text (i.e. at the start of the post) still won’t make them appear on the home page. Similarly, you may be inserting More tag after the theme automatically cuts-off text.
If you want this functionality, I suggest you explore other themes.
