Gateway Theme – Header

    Hi,

    firstly please ignore the fact that there is no real data on this site…I am still playing around with the different themes to get what I am looking for.

    My question is related to the header on this theme… the theme notes advise that the header will not scale on smaller screens like mobile etc. I can understand this as a default… my question then is if I purchase the CSS upgrade, will I be able to control this using CSS? My header image’s key focal points are the left and right edges, so if I could use CSS to scale on mobile screens, then the CSS add on would be worthwhile for me.

    Any guidance or clarity would be appreciated.

    If you have the Premium or Business upgrade http://wordpress.com/plans and use Custom CSS, you can opt to apply custom CSS to a WordPress.com theme.

    Note 1: If you have the required upgrade you can use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can create a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get the help you need with CSS editing.

    Note 2: You can also post there prior to purchasing an upgrade to get an answer to whether or not what you want to do can be accomplished via CSS editing.

    Thank you @timethief.

    I was under the impression that you could purchase the css upgrade and use it without being on the premium or business plan. But from what it seems you are saying I need to have both.

    I know I use css on another site of mine but then perhaps the functionality I am looking for on this new site is limited unless I have both options as per your advice.

    Every upgrade applies to a single site only. Both the Premium and Business upgrade provide CSS editing ability. No other plans do that and the CSS upgrade cannot be separately purchased. Stand-alone upgrades were discontinued nearly 2 years ago.

    Ah ok I didn’t know about the discontinuation. Perhaps because I bought my css upgrade before that I have been allowed to keep renewing it.
