Gateway theme – Header not responsive?

Hi! I’m trying to make my header responsive and not have to use the default mobile site.
As of right now, I have Enable mobile theme set to Yes — but I hate the menu being blue. Is there any way I can change that or change the header to be responsive when I have mobile theme off?
Right now, when Mobile Theme is off, everything is perfect except my header image doesn’t resize.
I am using WordPress.com site is samanthadurnford.com (if you visit on mobile, you’ll see the the blue menu, and the header will be resized but I want to be able to use the other version)

The mobile theme is only intended for themes that aren’t responsive, that don’t adapt automatically to different screen sizes.
In Gateway, the custom header is a background image, so it may be cropped at different screen sizes. I recommend uploading your image as a logo instead of a custom header – that way it will resize well at small screen sizes. You’ll find the option in the Customizer’s Site Title, Tagline, and Logo.
Let me know how it goes once you try that option and disable the separate mobile theme.
