Gateway theme home template color bar
-
I’m working on a test site for a business using the Gateway theme and having trouble with the mobile view. I have the front page set up using the Home template and it comes with a colored bar (pinkish-orange) beneath the header image. It only shows on that page which is fine, but when viewing on an iPad or iPhone, the entire header space on each page is that color and does not show the header image at all.
Let me know if I’m missing a setting. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Okay, so I added the same header image as a featured image on the home page and that took care of the coloered bar, even on mobile devices, but all the other site pages still don’t show the custom header in a mobile view.
So I need to instead add it as a featured image on each site page? what then is the purpose of the custom header image?

So, I tried manually putting a featured image on each page, but that won’t work, because not only does it put it in the header, it puts a cropped version right on the page next to the written content. I’m sure that’s why there is the custom header option, so you don’t have to do it for every page—it just needs to show up on mobile devices on those pages.

Hi there – I’m not actually seeing a header image on any of your static pages at the moment, on any size of screen. For example:
https://cyclesitetest.wordpress.com/welcome-2/location-and-hours/
https://cyclesitetest.wordpress.com/welcome-2/product-gallery/
https://cyclesitetest.wordpress.com/welcome-2/sewing-services/Those pages should be displaying the header image, as you see on the Gateway demo.
I just tested a custom header on my test site and it displays normally at all screen sizes.
Could you try re-uploading your custom header in the Customizer and let me know if that gets it displaying on your pages?

Yes, re-uploading worked. Thanks. I guess I should live by the motto of try try again. Who knows what kicked it in.
