Gateway Theme – Multiple CTA's
-
Is it possible to add multiple (2) CTA’s to the Gateway Theme? In general, I am curious to understand the flexibility as my design selection will be based on the hero image size and ability to have atleast two Call to Actions.
Thanks!

Hi,
Have you tried adding multiple CTAs? I think it will work. Haven’t tested on the Gateway theme, but I was able to add multiple CTAs with the front page template of the Edin theme. -
I tried – but didn’t realize that I need to be a premium member to make changes to the CSS. Is that the case?

It doesn’t require CSS. You may add multiple buttons. I confirmed this in a test with the Gateway theme activated.
How to:
Copy and paste the code provided on the Add a “Call to Action” button page of the Gateway demo into the content of a page with the Front Page Template assigned. The code
<a href="http://example.com" class="button">Button Text</a>
can be customized by replacing the destination URL (http://example.com) and the link title (Button Text). Your second button can be an exact copy of the first or a modified version with a different title and different destination URL. -

That’s correct.

What I called the “link title” would, I guess, more properly be referred to as the “call to action.” I don’t really know what that phrase means. The text that appears on the button might just describe the content of a post, page, gallery, etc. that it links to, but it could say anything, including something provocative.
Examples:
You ain’t seen nothing yet!
Whatever you do, do not press this button!
It’s not what you think it is
Your future begins now
etc. -

You can still add inline CSS within buttons and other elements, without any upgrades. If you let me know specifically what kind of tweaks you’d like to make, I’ll be glad to help.

Thank you @kathrynwp!
I would really like to add two buttons/CTA’s to my existing website over the header image. I’m happy to change out the image to something larger so this is more aesthetically pleasing.
Is that possible to do without being premium?
I tried pasting in the code that @musicdoc1 recommended and it did not work.

Sure, so you first would open up the Customizer, then open the Theme Options panel, then the Homepage Template section.
In the Gateway demo site, this is the HTML in the “Hero Content” area that generates the call to action button.
Use this template to give your readers a bit of important information. <a href="https://gatewaydemo.wordpress.com/add-a-call-to-action-button/" class="button">Call to Action</a>So if you wanted a second button, you would just copy the button code and add a second copy of it below the first:
<a href="https://gatewaydemo.wordpress.com/add-a-call-to-action-button/" class="button">Call to Action</a>Let me know how it goes!
