Gateway theme: no featured images

Hello, I switched my 2 year old blog from the Hum theme to the Gateway one. With the Gateway theme, I have a short header and my blog posts are just listed with no featured images on the page that’s designated as home.
I would like to have some featured images. I’m not sure if this involves creating a static home page. If so, I’m not sure how to switch my current home page with all of my posts to this. Thank you very much.

It looks like your posts doesn’t have featured images set for them.
Could you follow the instructions in this support guide and set featured images for your posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/
You don’t need to create static home page to show featured images in Gateway theme.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
