Hi there!
The “nothing found” area is happening due to not having any featured posts set on your front page yet. See the three images/posts on the front page (the beach, taxi, and camera) on the demo: http://gatewaydemo.wordpress.com/? That is the same area on your site that’s showing the “nothing found” message.
To add posts there, go to Customize > Featured Content and put a tag in the box (like “featured”) then save. Then tag any three blog posts with the same tag, and publish them. The three posts with the tag on them will display on your homepage now. (Make sure to set a Featured Image on the posts so they will have an image to display on your front page.)
There is more information, including screenshots, under “Homepage Template” on this page: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/gateway/
Let me know if you have any questions! :)
