Gateway Theme – setting posts/pages to full width
-
I’ve set up a site for a university course where I have the students writing ‘posts’ which I will them sort into the primary menu to appear as static pages (so, once all the students contribute their content, there won’t be a consistent ‘blog’ aspect with new posts).
I’m having trouble getting these posts full-width. The Gateway theme states that it supports a full-width template that, when enabled, will not show a side bar. It tells me to do this through an option called ‘page attributes’ which I cannot find for the life of me. Can anyone direct me to where I can find this? I’ve tried looking under WP admin and in the customizer as well.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Page Attributes is in the drop-down menu under Page Settings, which you’ll find at the top right side of the page editor. It has a gear icon beside the words “Page Settings. Click on either the icon or the words to open the drop-down menu.
Under Page Attributes, on some themes you’ll find some optional templates. The template options for a Gateway theme page are
1. Default
2. Full Width, No Sidebar
3. Home Page -
Here’s a page with some screenshots:

This shows the right hand sidebar you’ll get after clicking Page Settings in the top right as @musicdoc1 described :)

Ah, I see now. Thank you!
So, now I’m wondering if there is a way to make ‘Posts’ the same size? (As in, without the sidebar). For example, this post is left-justified and I can’t seem to figure out how to adjust it:
-
Pages are a bit different from posts, and don’t use the same Page Template functionality.
On Gateway, there is always a sidebar on right hand side – you could use Custom CSS (part of a Premium Plan or Business Plan) to remove that and increase the width of the post.
If you don’t want to show any widgets, you could try something like Dara or Penscratch 2. These are themes that will actually remove the sidebar when it’s empty (they’re a bit newer :) )
You could also try some of these, which are specifically designed with single column layouts:
