Gave a nonexistent email when signing up

    Hello there,
I have a problem. When signing up to wordpress.com , I accidentally typed an extra letter when typing in my email. I haven’t noticed that. I am absolutely sure that the email address I typed in does not exist.

Now, the website is not letting me make any changes or post anything, because they have sent a confirmation email to that account for me to log in and confirm it. I tried changing it to my actual email address, but, like it says, I first have to confirm the change from the old email.

But how am I supposed to do that if the email address does not exist? Then I tried to create that gmail account with the extra letter in it. But it turns out it’s too long and it doesn’t fit!

I really do not want to delete this account and create a new one.

I really need help with this problem and I hope someone will have a solution. Let me know if something is unclear. Thank you!

  • Hi there,

You can change your email address under Account Settings, which will send a new confirmation email to the new address you enter.

    https://wordpress.com/me/account/

Please let me know if you need more help with this.
