Gave blog control the wrong person
-
I was trying to move my old blog over to my new one and somehow gave control to someone else who has a similar user name as mine. Does anyone know of a way to get control back?

Jerry,
Could you please provide me with the blog name, and all the user names in question?
You should have received an email send to the original account administrative email address. That email asked for you to confirm the transfer. Did you already do this?
Thanks very much.

The blog name is The Boy Baker (theboybaker.wordpress.com) and the username I entered is “jerrywood” which is my WordPress.org username. I assumed that the .com and .org accounts would all be the same.
I received the confirmation email and clicked the link it contained.

Jerry,
To whom did you intend to transfer the site?
Your. org user name is a name you created on that self-hosted site’s server. It isn’t connected in any way to WordPress.com.
If you want to transfer from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, this guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:

If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if it’s right for you:

In the meantime, I’ve moved the blog back to your jerrydwood WordPress.com account so you have ownership of it.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.
