Hi all,
I am worried about WordPress.com’s GDPR compliance although my website is not a business. How could I make it GDPR comliant? I cannot find any widget (like cookie consent widget earlier). Your advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks, AsithaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, all free sites on WordPress.com now have the Cookies & Consent widget enabled automatically on their sites. You need not add it yourself. https://en.support.wordpress.com/cookie-widget/
Please read the sticky post at the top of this forum for more information and resources about WordPress.com and the GDPR https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/about-the-gdpr/ Come back to us here if you have any questions after reading that info.

Also mentioning that if you had the earlier EU Cookies widget enabled, it should have updated to the new Cookies & Consent banner.

Hi Justjennifer,
Many thanks for the reply. Cookies widget button itself doesn’t mention GDPR so that’s why I was worried. However, I believe this link it takes the user to (i.e. https://automattic.com/cookies/) has been made up-to-date to include GDPR. Is it that what you mean, please?
Anyway, I removed all followers of the blog and planning to remove Clustr Map widget, Twitter widget, etc, which are additional features that I do not necssarily need. Trying to be as minimal as possible…
By the way, mine is not a business. It’s just communications/ education tool on sustainability.
Many thanks again. -

Yes, that is what I meant, but adding the widget in itself does not necessarily make your site compliant with GDPR.
