Gdpr help – does it apply to me

Hi been hearing lots about Gdpr, and just wondered if it applied to my site and what measures I can put into place to ensure I comply.
I am an EU citizen, I have an site on WordPress under the free template.
If it does apply how can i go about complying with gdpr, as I literally have no idea what do to, I’m very much a beginner when it comes to my site.

Hi there, all free sites on WordPress.com now have the Cookies & Consent widget enabled automatically on their sites https://en.support.wordpress.com/cookie-widget/ but adding the widget in itself does not necessarily make your site compliant with GDPR.
