General comments in addition to post comments

On my post page I want a general comment box in addition to comments on my posts. This is so that a person isn’t limited to responding to my posts. They’d be able to write something entirely different, yet related. How can I achieve this? Thanks

You can create a static page and place a contact form on it.

That option could work although I was thinking of having the comments appear and remain on the page and visible to the public rather than being a message sent to me. Possible? Thanks

Actually, I think I just answered my own question. Just create a new page with a comment field/box. Right?
