General Help

Hi, We signed up a few years ago to be a client, but never went ahead. I am looking at signing up, but need to know some information. I want a website that I can easily modify with a WYSIYG editor but also have complete customization (I have a team of devs and designers) Do you have the tools to do this?
Is there a difference between wordpress.com and .org? It looks like .org is most customizable. Does it have a visual editor?
Thanks

Hi there,

That is exactly what WordPress is designed to do :)
For details on using the editor under Posts and Pages in the dashboard, which you use to modify your site content, you can see here:
https://wordpress.com/en/support/wordpress-editor/
And if you use on of our new Block themes (all themes under the Recommended tab in Appearance ->Themes), you’ll also have access to the site editor which lets you directly modify all the templates for your theme that controls how the site itself looks:

WordPress.org is the website where the WordPress community makes the open source WordPress software. Anyone can download that software and install it on their own server, or at a web hosting provider.
WordPress.com is one such hosting provider. More specifically, we’re a managed host, which means we take care of the server and WordPress installation for you, so you can just focus on your site. Our service also includes spam protection and security, as well as support for WordPress itself (most hosts only provide support for their hosting features, not for the WordPress software), here in the forums for free users, or via email and live chat for paid users. Our version of WordPress is also slightly modified, and includes a number of features built-in that you’d need various plugins for if you use the open source version of WordPress.
On our free plan some features, like the ability to install plugins, are restricted, but if you’re on our Pro plan you can do almost anything on WordPress.com that you’d be able to do if you hosted the open source version of WordPress elsewhere.
You can find some more information in this regard here:

I hope that answers your questions, but please let me know if there’s anything else :)
