General Information about WordPress

Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m studying business informatics at the University of Zurich and I’m writing a paper about CMS. Therefore I would like to get more detailed information about WordPress. I could identify WordPress as a leader in the CMS market, but it is very difficult to find exact numbers and that’s why I chose to publish this post.
Could anyone tell me or guide me where to find out: some information about the market share of WordPress? Interesting for me would be a breakdown by country and/or by continent. For the market share calculation, a distinction between clicks (traffic) and (absolute) websites would be relevant to my work.
