General Website Share Buttons
-
Hi. I’ve literally spent hours on this and must ask…
Is there a way to add good old Share buttons on one’s blog to share the website in general?
I’ve found GetSocialLive, but that’s it, which you can place in a Widget Text Box.
I can’t figure out how to use AddToAny.
I now know all about adding share buttons to a static page, to a post, etc.. And I’ve learned about and understand creating share buttons for our personal social media sites. And it appears that all the themes with “Share” buttons built-in are designed for linking to personal social media sites, NOT general “Share this Website” buttons.
I’m mainly asking for general share buttons located someplace consistent on the website so people can click and share the blog/website-at-large.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t use it but I used Google search and located Add to Any Share buttons for WordPress.com https://www.addtoany.com/buttons/for/wordpress_com

Thanks for the reply. This is super important to me and I’ve literally spent hours on this. And I feel this is a huge issue for most WordPress.com bloggers.
This page https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/social-links-menu/ shows how to add buttons to “…your social profiles.”
This page https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-social-media-buttons-to-your-sidebar-or-footer/ once again shows how to create buttons and “…link them to your social media services.”
I’m in need of Share buttons visitors click on to connect them to their social media site, so they can share my website as themselves. Once again, GetSocialLive works in this manner, by going to their site, generating code, and adding that code to a Text Widget.
I’m just wondering if there are any other options.
I’m also away are adding Share buttons to a static page; however, you cannot place those share buttons in an ideal place on the site.
And the themes that come with built in social media buttons are designed to link to your personal social media site – they are not general “share this website” buttons.

I have blogged here for a long time and elsewhere before blogging here.
This is not a huge issue for me now nor has it ever been and I have a very successful blog.
As it is a huge issue for you, you can create a suggestion thread in the Ideas Forum by using this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas

Thanks! Regarding AddToAny, it appears to be primarily for WordPress.org, i.e., java script. The “solution” for WordPress.com is simply a button added to the share buttons WP.com provides, which are fixed at the bottom of a page, post, etc.. Thanks for all the help!!!
