Generate a CSR
-
I want to generate a CSR, and the form is asking me for a legally-registered company. There is no company – I’m a private entity.

Hey there, can you confirm where you’re needing to generate a CSR?
We take care of SSL automatically for all sites hosted here, no CSR generation needed. So if you’re bought an SSL certificate elsewhere, you likely don’t need it, unless you have a WordPress installation with different host.
If you do have a site with another host:
– I’d check with the SSL company and your host for their recommendations

Thank you for your response. I posted to this forum by accident – I meant to contact BlueHost, which is hosting my wordpress blog, while the domain itself is with a different host (register.com) My initial concern was with my browser reporting my blog was an unsecured site, and I wanted to eliminate the message. I purchased an SSL from my service provider, and needed the CSR from Bluehost to enter in my SPs management form. The form required a legally-registered business name. I contacted register.com, and the fix was to simply enter the domain name in the business name field. All fixed. (Except that I understand now that I should have registered the domain with Bluehost in the first place… live and learn)

Ah, thanks for letting us know what happened. I’ll mark this as resolved and close it out. And then for more help with a WordPress installation at a separate host like Bluehost, you can use the resources here:
