I’m having the same problem. Airodyssey, thanks for pointing that out, but it doesn’t help solve the problem. Any suggestions?

We can’t add themes at wordpress.COM. Period.
If you want to use an outside theme, register a domain name, hire a web host such as dreamhost, bluehost, etc., install and configure the wordpress.ORG software on that web host, export your stuff from here and import it into the new self-hosted installation.
Figure an average overall monthly cost (all things considered) of $10 to $25. You will be responsible for all installations, all upgrades, all backups and all troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, you have to figure it out and fix it.
WordPress has made it much easier to run and maintain a self-hosted site, but it does require more expertise and work. There is also more risk. At wordpress.com, about the only way for someone to “hack” your site is if they guess your password, so always make sure your password is strong. With a self-hosted installation, the internet low-life have more ways to get in.

thesacredpath has pointed out that WordPress.com is a hosted blog service. You do not have to download software, pay for hosting or manage a web server. WordPress.com does not permit uploading themes or plugins. You can only use themes found here > Appearance > themes as there is no FTP access and no third party themes can be uploaded into free hosted WordPress.com blogs.WordPress.org is free software. You can install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database.. Here’s a link to WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The differences

Thank you thesacredpath.
The steps I’ve taken thus far are:
– I already registered my domain name with WordPress
– I’ve setup hosting through GoDaddy
– I’ve installed the WordPress.org softwareI’m waiting on the domain name to point to the GoDaddy nameservers.
