Geotag post

How to geotag a post with block editor? I see instructions for classic editor https://wordpress.com/support/geotagging/

    Is that possible?

I also found instructions that individual blocks such as images have attributes to include location, but I cannot see that. Which free themes allow for that?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, we still have the full Classic Editor available to us also on free sites. I see you are using a Block theme on your above site (Twenty Twenty-Three), so your mileage may vary.

You can access the Classic Editor from the WP Admin/Classic Posts page. At the top of that page you’ll see a button to Add New Post, with a drop down arrow on the right side. Click it and you’ll see “Classic Editor”.

When you open the Classic Editor, you’ll see a top row of buttons and the one on the right is Location. Clicking it allows you to add your own information, or give WPcom permission to locate you.

Again, this option is not available in the Block Editor itself or in the Classic Block. However, be aware that at some point in the future the full Classic Editor may no longer be available.

The Block Editor does offer a Map Block, if that is an option for you.

Lastly, about images, it’s not theme dependent. If you upload images that you’ve geotagged in your camera, you can display that EXIF information when the image appears in a Gallery block and if you’ve allowed the Image Carousel in your site’s Media Settings. I do not know if it’s possible to enable on individual images.

I’m going to have to add a caveat here. Things are changing here all the time and I have not tested this recently.Regardless I hope this information is helpful. Post back here if you have other questions.
