Geotags and EXIF Data in Images
-
Could anyone tell me how to ensure no one can see my location or phone/computer ID if I post photos on my WordPress blog? I rather like being anonymous but I’m new to all this and don’t know whether or not WordPress removes this data before it gets posted or if there’s something I need to download or upload to remove this information from my images.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, the best thing to do would be to remove any personal data from your images prior to uploading them to your WordPress.com site. That way it isn’t there to be read by machines or humans. :)
If you are on a Windows PC, you can click each image to remove personal data. Not sure how it works with a Mac.
Image editing software like PSP or PSE or Picasa, etc., might have a script to batch process your images to remove this data.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your response!
I do have a Windows PC (Windows 7, I think) and have tried removing data by right clicking on the image, going into properties then into details and clicked on the blue link that says Remove Properties and Personal Information. I then have the options of creating a copy with all possible properties removed or removing the selected properties of that particular file. I’ve tried both options but when I look in the details, nothing looks any different and I have no idea what is visible to just me as the person behind the computer and what is visible to others on the Internet in terms of personal information and location .
Removing this info before loading to WordPress would be great but the only way I know about for removing data is what I described above, which doesn’t seem to be doing a whole lot. I think I’ve heard about people using photoshop to remove data so I might look into getting that
