  I have a domain with another site and have requested for it to be free so that I can use the premium service in WordPress($99 one). How do I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You don’t need the $99 upgrade to use it; you only need the domain mapping upgrade, which is $5 a year I think. http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-a-domain/

  Hey thank you for replying. The domain mapping thing is $13 in addition to the $75 i am paying for the other host. So I think it would be better to shift to wordpress. What I am trying to figure out is, once the domain is free how do I make sure no one else uses it and I can transfer it to wordpress?

  DO NOT WAIT till it’s free. You’ll lose it. Seriously. Just point it to your WP.com blog and import the content from your old blog.

  After you transfer the content – map the domain name to your blog
