I can’t seem to delete this account exmachinafoto.wordpress.com Though I am interested in setting up a custom page through WP, I am currently bloody frustrated with not being able to make any changes at all…please see to it that I can proceed with setting this up for my website.

The site, exmachinafoto.wordpress.com , you have already deleted. The username/account associated with it, exmachinafoto, cannot be deleted.

You can assign a throw-away email address to it (settings > general) and then change the password to a 16 or 20 character, very strong password and then just walk away if you wish. That will keep anyone from getting into it or using it. You will have effectively locked it. The email address that was assigned to the account will then be freed up so that you can use it with another account if that is what you wish to do.
I would suggest keeping track of the email address and password, and the new strong password for the account just on the off chance that you will want to use it in the future.

You can’t delete accounts at WP.com. You can delete blogs though. You need to have a whatever.wordpress.com account to be able to map a Whatever.com url to.
