When I delete files on media do they disappear from the blog post aswell? Also without paying is these anyway of getting more storage other than deleting photos? Thanks

Yes, deleting images from the Media Library removes them from the post they were attached to, so it’s not a good idea. Free plans come with 3GB of space for images which is room for many thousands of .jpg images optimized for the web. .png images are ten times larger than .jpg images and although better resolution they slow down a site’s loading ability and eat into the 3GB space on image-heavy blogs.
You could double your storage capacity by upgrading to a Personal plan, but you do have to pay for that, or you could look at ways of reducing the file-size of future images you upload.
