Get my name out of DePo Masthead

  Hello,

  I’m using wordpress.com for my blog. I want to use the DePo Masthead theme. But there is a black box with my name in it on the top of the theme. Is there a way to remove my name out of the box?

  No there is not. The CSS upgrade would enable you to hide the entire box and everything in it, but to exclude just the author name would require changing the way the theme functions and we can’t do that.

  Not all themes display the author name (it’s a decision made by the theme author) so if it really bothers you, that’s your only option.

  Actually with DePo, go to appearances > DePo options and you can put something into the “text box” field. By default that field is blank, which means the author’s name is inserted automatically. You should be able to put anything in there, even a single space or perhaps **** or some other character.

  It wasn’t an option originally I don’t think. I’m pretty sure it was added a few weeks or so after it was released originally.
