Get our new wordpress blog up and running on the internet.

Our domain for our website (mtqg.org) is registered with godaddy thru 10/2013. Our new blog is set up with WordPress mtqg.wordpress.com. I understand that I can map(?) from our website to our blog. It is not necessary to have our website any longer, perhaps only the home page to use to redirect to our blog.
Please, provide a simple step by step process for me. I understand that we’ll need to pay $13.00 yearly for ??? Also, shall we reregister our domain with wordpress? If so, what is the cost? What is the benefit…except for our convenience? If we upgrade so our domain is mtqg.org on the blog, what is the cost. Is it yearly? Will our domain be moved from goDaddy so we no long have a contract with them? Can we upgrade and stay with goDaddy to complete our contract?
This is a start…perhaps I’ll have more questions as we start this process.
Also, this is a committee project ;-) so nothing can be done immediately. Thank you.I’ve obviously never done this before and feel like I’m working in a black hole!! Please guide me. Thank you.

I recommend keeping your domain with GoDaddy, as it’s good through the year and we can’t accept incoming domain transfers.
If you choose to map the domain that you have registered with GoDaddy to your blog here, you can do that following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
The cost is $13/year.
Your domain will remain registered with GoDaddy and will then be directed to your blog here.
