Get Plug-ins (Help!)
-
Hey, I’m new to this and I was wondering if anyone could tell me why they cut out plug-ins? If not could you explain how to enable a plug in on my page? I’m trying to install bbpress as a plug in for a forum. I’ve been unable to figure it out. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You used the Plugin tag on this post, so please read the plugin tag https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/plugin
No word of a lie, I answered that question 13 or 14 times yesterday alone.

re: plugins
WordPress.com is a multiuser blogging platform. Our blogs are not free standing. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins. There is no upgrade you can purchase that will provide FTP access and the ability to install plugins, upload themes, and/or edit templates and themes in a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

To use plugins you must hire a web host and then set up your own WordPress.org install. At present there are no chatboxes or forums I am aware of that can be embedded into free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no FTP access and we cannot install plugins.
However, you have three free workaround forum options: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/23/wordpress-com-forum-options/
One approach is to register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.
a custom link to the forum in it.

Thanks to the both of you. Your information was really helpful and I kinda figured that I wouldn’t be able to install any plugins that aren’t from word press themselves. Thanks again.
