  Gravatar is a globally recognized avatar service, and it’s deeply integrated with WordPress.com. When you create a WordPress.com account, you automatically get a Gravatar profile associated with your email address.

  In short: you can’t delete your gravatar without also deleting your wordpress;com account.

  Hi there,

  As previously suggested, you cannot completely remove the Gravatar. However, if you want to change the default avatar image for users, go to Settings → Discussion → Default Avatar and select a different option, as shown in the screenshot below.
