Hello there,
All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Oh no! I did it again. This is a CSS thread and I just noticed that. I apologize for posting here. Please be patient while waiting for another Volunteer or Staff to assist you. Does this help? https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/removing-comment-form-in-the-photo-gallery?replies=5#post-619673

Thanks timethief for your help…
I tried the solution given in the link you mention, but still having the same problem.
I went to Settings —> Discussion Settings —> Default Article Settings and unchecked the box that says, “Allow people to post comments on new articles” then Saved the changes and finally created a new page.
Gallery pictures in this new page still show the comment and reblog boxes.
I also created a new post (instead of a new page), same problem.
I tried also to disable “carousel slide show”… in this case it also appears a “like” icon!some more ideas?
(and Thanks again!) -
This will hide the comment area and both the comment and reblog links when viewing the individual images:
#jp-carousel-comment-form-container, .jp-carousel-commentlink, .jp-carousel-reblog {display:none;} -
Hi hallluke, Thanks!
I am brand new in this stuff… anyways i googled that the change you advise me to do is under
Appearance > Edit CSS
but i do not have that option in my Appearance menu. Not sure why… -
You need to purchase the custom design upgrade in order to modify the CSS on your site. If you go to Appearance > Custom Design > CSS you can trial any changes first.
