I am trying to set up a business website, not a blog. Did I make a mistake signing up? I also already have my own domain that I’d like to load the site on…please advise

You can set up a WordPress.com site as a static website instead if that’s what you prefer. If you want to sell products via your website there is also the business upgrade with limited plugins that provide that ability.

If none of that is what you’re looking for, your other option is to also buy hosting for your domain and then create your own website (or hire someone to do it for you) using the WordPress.org software. For help with doing that you’ll need to go to the .org forum and support pages and you’ll need to create a username over there as well to post in that forum.
