Get the premium account dashboard?
-
I have two WP sites. One site’s dashboard is http://(site-name).com/wp-admin/ and my new website is on https://(sitename).wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php
On the one with wordpress.com in the address, I DO have the site.com checked as my primary domain and I paid for a premium account.
I have 2 domains listed under domains. The domain name without dashes lists it’s subscription as “never expires”. The domain with dashes is checked as primary and it has an expiration date and an option to edit the DNS.
How do I get my dashboard to to premium account for my new website?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Oh, the domains are hosted by webhostinghub.com in case that matters. My other site, that comes up with the premium dashboard is also hosted by webhostinghub.com and all names are “pointed” to ns1.webhostinghub.com and ns2.webhostinghub.com

Hello there,
Are you referring to this site?
http://no-diet-method.com/
If so then the login link is http://no-diet-method.com/wp-admin/Note what the support docs explain regarding https:// login here please
http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/Also note that there is no difference in dashboards at all when you purchase a premium bundle or any upgrade. Does this help?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/ -
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name your desire must be available for purchase.
If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
See here for mapping a sub-domain (for a domain with an existing website) to your WordPress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

All of this is Greek to me. I know I am doing something wrong, but I don’t know what.
When I click your link: If so then the login link is http://no-diet-method.com/wp-admin/ I am redirected to http://nodietmethod.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ even though I paid for a premium account.
I get the message: You are now in your blog’s “dashboard” where you can write new posts and control lots of important settings and features.
Although your site address is no-diet-method.com, keep in mind that your dashboard address is nodietmethod.wordpress.com/wp-admin/. -
-
://no-diet-method.com – loads fine for me and is a primary domain for your visitors
You will always work in /nodietmethod.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ for making your Posts, checking stats and such for your domain ://no-diet-method.com – that is the way domain name mapping works.
there is no “Premium Account Dashboard”
also being rude is bad Karma

auxclass, who was being rude? And I KNOW there is a better dashboard, because my other website has it. The dashboard I have now doesn’t even have a plugin feature I can find. And, as stated, there is no wordpress.com in the admin address.
I clearly messed something up when registering my WP site, I just need help straightening it out. I will wait for WP to help me.

re: plugins
This is a multiuser blogging platform. Our blogs are not free standing. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins. There is no upgrade you can purchase that will provide FTP access and the ability to install plugins, upload themes, and/or edit templates and themes in a free hosted WordPress.com blog.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
To use plugins you must hire a web host and then set up your own WordPress.org install. Please read this comparison > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ -
I am using the same host for both sites. I purchased the no-diet site through the same company I have my other .com website that DOES have the premium account dashboard where I can add plugins etc. I paid WP for the upgrade for the new no-diet site in order to use my .com web address. So I guess I need to contact my webhost for help instead of looking WP for help?
-
How about posting the real URL’s of all the sites you have questions about? Then someone can tell you which ones might have the Plugin option and which ones will not have that option. “mysite” is not helpful at all
-
We do provide support for this blog http://no-diet-method.com/ which WordPress.COM is hosting.
We do NOT provide support for this site http://emotional-fitness.com/weight-loss/no-diet-method/ because WordPress.COM does not host that site. http://emotional-fitness.com Is Hosted by InMotion Hosting To get support for that site if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Thanks, this was the information I needed. I just contacted the host, and they are installing it. All the technical jargon makes no sense to me, so none of the “help documents” helped me.

Nope, still not working. When I click the link http://no-diet-method.com/wp-admin/ I am redirected to http://nodietmethod.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ still. What the heck am I doing wrong?

I have an idea. Maybe I need a 1, 2, 3 on taking my .com domain and signing up for a premium WP thing. (Not sure of the lingo) My http://www.emotional-fitness.com is hosted by the same company and is a premium WP thing, where I can add plugins etc. I want the http://www.no-diet-method.com to be the same way. I have no clue how to get the no-diet site working the same as my other site.
It doesn’t seem it should be so difficult. I keep going back and forth with the live chat with the host company and help forum here. Nobody knows what I am talking about and I don’t know how else to word it. I am not a techie person, sorry.

Thanks timetheif, I will work on the patience part. ;-) Thanks for trying auxclass, but you and I are not on the same page. I can get the webpage to load too, but I need to be able to add plugins etc. just like my other site that is hosted in the same place and I also paid WP for the premium product. I know I screwed something up in the process, and need to get it fixed so I can create the site the way I need it to look.

@1happytracie
auxclass answered your question long ago. I gave up trying to help and have tagged this thread for Staff to explain what auxclass already said in words you can understand. Your issue is you do not comprehend how domain mapping works.
