Getting a 404 error when trying to embed You Tube video

We are trying to paste a you tube link into our portfolio page. When we preview the page after pasting and saving where the video should be it just says 404 error page not found.
We have tried every variation to the link to get it to work but we end up with the same result.
How can we correct this so that our video from you tube links properly and shows up on our website.

The page you mention, coblife.ca/coblife , and its top-level domain coblife.ca are not hosted on WordPress.com, so I cannot support those issues in this forum.
If your self-hosted site is running the free software from WordPress.org, I recommend you install and activate the Jetpack plugin, and activate the Shortcode Embed option within Jetpack settings. This will allow you to embed videos from YouTube just as you would on WordPress.com.
