Getting a .com domain and the plugins feature without losing the widgets

    Greetings,
I am co-owner of a blog as refered in my post, and we are thinking of pushing it to the next level however we have tried hosting a self-installed wordpress blog in a custom domain and it is not the same as creating a blog in wordpress, we lose a lot of widgets that are quite valuable, so here goes my wish:

Is there a way for me to transfer my blog.wordpress.com site to a .com or .net domain, getting the plugins feature, and freedom that goes along with it, it being the editing in CSS, advertise, anything, really! But also being a wordpress based site and have the widgets that we do have in blog.wordpress.com, like milestone widget and so on so forth?

There is no WordPress.com upgrade that will provide you with the freedom that you would have on a self hosted WordPress.org install. Please read this carefully: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The Differences

Also note that WordPress.org installs do not contain the special in-house for WordPress.com users widgets. The two are completely separate sites that yun on different software.

edit: “yun” was meant to be “run”.

thanks for the swiftness, I guess I was just refusing to accept that reality.

in an off topic subject, is that a character generated avatar or photoshopped? if it’s made through a creator could you pinpoint me towards one, thanks anyway :)

Some of the widget functionality here can be retained by using the Jetpack plugin created by the folks here at wordpress.com.

Well, you COULD get the VIP upgrade. I believe it’s $2300 to install and $600 a month to maintain, but my numbers are old.
