Getting a Refund for an unwarranted charge

    I have been charged for a year subscription and did NOT ask for it. Moreso, there is no transaction history in my wordpress account, however, money has clearly been taken from my bank account as is shown in my bank statement.

    Has anyone else experienced this? if so, how did you resolve it?

    I have tried to ‘find my transaction’ through the search tool and it was unsuccessful.

    The account you’re using to post here is only two weeks old, doesn’t own any sites with us, and has never bought anything from us. We don’t even have a credit card on file for you that we could have charged.

    The only way you could have been charged for an upgrade on WordPress.com is if you added an upgrade to a site and provided us with your credit card information on the checkout page, or if you didn’t do it, someone with access to your credit card did it. But we cannot charge a card if the payment information is not given to us first.

    If you don’t know what site the charge was for, or you suspect someone else might have used your card to do this, please search for the charge at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/. You can also use the Contact Us link on that page to contact our billing support team directly for further help with this – to track down the transaction we’ll need to get some additional information from you which we cannot discuss here in the public forums.
