getting a reserve message for a site name when I am the one who reserved it

  • Unknown's avatar

I own the domain name elizafrank.com. When we tried to move it into wordpress, it came out elizafrankdotcom.wordpress.com. This is not ideal. When I tried to change it elizafrank.wordpress.com, I get the message that that domain name is reserved. But I am the one who reserved it!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The blog address elizafrank.wordpress.com is reserved by the WordPress.com user who has the username elizafrank. It isn’t possible to create a blog at that address using a different WordPress.com account.

However, you’re welcome to use the domain elizafrank.com here at WordPress.com. It’s linked to the free WordPress.com address elizafrankdotcom.wordpress.com, but that free address is only visible to you (for example, in your site’s dashboard). Visitors to your site will only see your domain name elizafrank.com.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

But I AM elizafrank. I am the one who reserved it.

Right now, you’re logged in to the WordPress.com account with the username somuchsomanysofew. It isn’t possible to create the blog at elizafrank.wordpress.com while logged in with this username.

One option is to log in to the account with the username elizafrank. From there, you can create the blog at elizafrank.wordpress.com.

Alternately, you could transfer ownership of the blog elizafrankdotcom.wordpress.com to the account with the username elizafrank. Then, you could change the blog’s address to elizafrank.wordpress.com.

If you’d like help with either of those options, please let me know!
