getting adsense running properly: how do you get passed the getting ready phase

I am having trouble getting my google adsense running with my blog site. it looks like everything is set up and complete to me, but when i check my google site kit it says it isnt setting up, and leads me to the adsense home screen, where it says i completed all the steps, but its still “getting the site ready to show ads”.
ive looked and looked online but cant find any concrete answers other than just wait and see, at some point you might get a notification saying it is ready or as one person said, theyve heard nothing for over e year and its still “getting ready”…
anyone else have this problem? did it get resolved? what steps did you take to get it connected (and can you dumb it down for a beginner).

To get the ads added to your site you need to use a plugin to add the Google Adsense code. Have you done this step yet? You can use a Plugin such as Easy Google Adsense:https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-google-adsense/
