Getting back to blogging but my domain has been stolen
-
I have an account with WP that has been dormant since July 2015. Recently I have considered starting back up but found out someone stole my former domain name and I can’t get it back. So, I’ve come up with a new one but want to know how to delete the old domain name associated with my WP account without deleting my entire account. Any help would be appreciated.

a wordpress.com domain – mydomainname.wordpress.com – cannot be stolen someone hass full acess to your email account and your wordpress.com account. What is the URL of your ‘stolen’ site?

Hi staartmees. Forgive me if I got my jargon wrong. The URL, which is no longer in my control, is Bassfishingarchives.com. Unfortunately, this URL is attached to my WP account.
I am not a web developer so be easy on me.

Your jargon isn’t wrong.
I guess your domain expired and someone else bought it, https://www.whois.com/whois/bassfishingarchives.com. When you let a domain expire, it means you no longer need it. -
Hi staartmees,
Thank you for that. But it still doesn’t answer my question. How so I get rid of my old URL and attach a new one to this account without deleting my account?

And therein lies the problem staartmees. I did this and this is what happens:
A pop-up window is displayed that says, “Please check your Primary Site’s Jetpack connection – wp-admin.” I click on that and am directed to a Network Solutions page that has my old URL at the top.
Any other thoughts?
