getting both landscape and portrait images to display in grid

Hi, I’m just learning how to do all this and I’ve been researching for hours how to make my product thumbnails display the way I want them to. I need the containers around the images to display both landscape and portrait images the same size in grid cells that are the same size. So there should be room on the sides for a portrait and room on the top/bottom for landscape. I’d like the largest dimension to be 250px. Hope this makes sense…

I also can’t figure out why my logo isn’t appearing with this theme. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
