Getting data out of old wordpress site

  Hello I had a page thenutmegassist.wordpress.com which has been moved to thenutmegassist.com with the premium pack. All the articles were moved but currently the articles published in the older site do not have their old stats, in terms of views, comments etc. Is there any way I can get the no. of views for the older articles from the old site?

  Hey,

  If you had exported your old site content before moving it to your new site, you may have a copy of your exported file of your old site as a series of .xml files. You maybe able to retrieve your content through these files.

  If this is not what you need, please note that while importing your content to your new site all of your old site content including comments, stats are moved. So you will have that data on your new site.

  Hey Pooja,
  1. We did import all content from the old site. But the new site stats page in dashboard doesn’t show the views and comments the older articles received, and they show 1 views etc. But in the old site that same article had almost 15k+ views.
  2. If we have exported the old site, how can we bring in the view count to show in the new site from the files?

  Hi abhinavradhakrishnan,

  thenutmegassist.wordpress.com was owned by another WordPress.com account and deleted (by the owner) some time ago. This means it won’t be possible to recover this site in order to see or transfer the old stats — they can only be transferred between active sites once we have received permission from the owner of the site where stats are being transferred from.

  thenutmegassist.com uses WordPress.org software and is hosted by Bluehost. Therefore, the WordPress.org support forums will be the best place to post if you need any further help with this site :)
