Getting Domain Mapping Error After Moving From WP.com to WP.org
-
Hi,
I had/have a blog hosted on WordPress.com at http://vortexeffect.wordpress.com and had the domain http://vortexeffect.net mapped to it.
After a couple of years running the site here, yesterday I moved it to DreamHost running WordPress.org. I pointed the name servers to DreamHost instead of WordPress.com and canceled the WordPress.com domain mapping upgrade.
I was able to set the site up fine, but I keep getting an error message that comes and goes that is really making it a pain to do anything with the site at the moment:
“Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. “
In that warning, “log in” is linked to WordPress.com.
I’ve run DNS checks through Pingdom and everything came back fine. Sometimes I can see the site, other times I get that message. Authors are also getting that message, but I can view the site through a proxy. I’ve cleared browser history and cache a couple of times.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It takes 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet, changes usually start after a few hours . During this time access to a web site can be erratic, due to caching issues you will be the last one to see the changes. Try clearing your browser cache & forcing a page reload.

Yeah I’ve done the clearing the cache and cookies a couple of times.
The message comes and goes. Sometimes I can be on the site or in the dashboard making changes (that’s why the site is in maintenance mode), and then when I try to go another page on the site or apply a change I’ll get hit with that error message.
Usually after five minutes or, it’ll appear as normal for a few minutes, and then do it all over again.
That error and a blank “No Data Received” screen is really making it impossible to work on the site.
