Getting domain pointed to WordPress.com
-
After successfully transferring our domain from GoDaddy to WordPress.com, but it is still points to GoDaddy, we don’t know how to find our IP address in WordPress, and don’t understand what to do after going to “Manage DNS”.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To manage your DNS-records and set them to default – https://wordpress.com/support/domains/custom-dns
Mind it can take up to 72 hours to propagate any dns-change

Hi there,
While I can confirm the domain transfer was successful, there are two custom A records in place on the bvgardenclub.org domain. These custom A records prevent the domain from loading the WordPress.com site. For now, we set bvgardenclubdotorg.wpcomstaging.com as the site’s primary domain so all of the site’s settings can load for you.
The A records can be removed from Upgrades > Domains. From there, click on the bvgardenclub.org domain name, navigate to the DNS records option, and select “Manage”. The two A records are located near the bottom of the page. When you find them, click the three dots next to an existing record and select the “Delete” option.
Once that’s done, let us know and we can work on issuing an SSL certificate for the domain. Then you can set the custom domain as the site’s primary with this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/set-a-primary-address/#how-to-set-a-primary-address

Can you start a thread of your own? We’ll be able to assist you further there.

Hello, Synora10 only now finding this, have been waiting to response to request within our WordPress.com account.
Yes, we’ve confirmed with GoDaddy too that the domain transfer was successful. My understanding from Wapuu is that the two A records (aka IP addresses) provide redundancy (a good thing according to Wapuu) in place on the bvgardenclub.org domain. We did not add these custom A records, which you’re explaining prevent the domain from loading the WordPress.com site. Thanks for setting up again the bvgardenclubdotorg.wpcomstaging.com as the site’s primary domain so all of the site’s settings can load for us, we lost it (the one that had been created prior to getting the domain transferred) yesterday when attempting to get the still pointing to GoDaddy issue resolved.
Help me understand this “The A records can be removed from Upgrades > Domains. From there, click on the bvgardenclub.org domain name, navigate to the DNS records option, and select “Manage”. The two A records are located near the bottom of the page. When you find them, click the three dots next to an existing record and select the “Delete” option.” Why? Because the help Wapuu provided explained the A records are the IP address. If we delete them won’t this create another issue? According the GoDaddy they can no longer give us the IP address (as Wapuu had suggested) because the transfer to WordPress.com
Also, seemingly related when we go to JetPack it show page not found. Will this resolve after the domain is corrected pointed to WordPress.com?

I’m unclear if the reply showed in the Forum as new comment, so now pressing reply and resending it.

Hi @caldercalder4,
Happy to help clarify about the IPs. Yes, they are a good thing but they need to be changed depending on where you’d like to point the domain to. The custom ones in place are more than likely from your previous host, which need to be removed. After they are removed our system will automatically update the IPs to use the correct ones. This should also resolve the Jetpack issue you’re experiencing.
We’ll also check into the inquiry you made within your account as well.
