Getting Error 404 – not found
-
Hi,
I looked at several posts regarding this topic but still can’t figure out what is going on in my case. I told uucanewbuilding.wordpress.com that I wanted to have the initial page be static and that blog posts shoudl go to http://uucanewbuilding.wordpress.com/introduction/building-committee-blog/ but when I try to bring up this page I get the error.
My guess is that this probably has something to do with the about page that I deleted on the original site but I’m still scratching my head…
thanks!
Peter

I’m having the same problem, I have a static welcome page but all my posts are not going up on my regular “posts” page

I assume that you both HAVE blog posts in the system?
The system will give you that 404 if you have deleted the “hello world” post and not made another one yet.

Without looking at your dashboards I can’t figure out what the matter is. Please contact support about this.

i think its a bug since the upgrade, i’m having the exact same issue. worked flawlessly before the upgrade.

I’m having the same exact problem. yesterday my blog posts showed up on my “blog” page, while the front page was static. I have the posts page set for “blog” and today, there is a 404. My recent posts widget shows them individually, but when I click on blog, they are not there.

Also having the same issue. Posts were showing fine earlier today (around 2 PM EST) and now (5 PM) the “blog” page is throwing a 404.

Yep, me to. It seems to be a problem only if the weblog is not the main page. The weblog will show up if you edit the settings back to “Posts on frontpage”. But that is not what we want! is it? I believe there should be a “Work in progress” sign up to inform the users. I’ll just wait till tomorrow and see what happens.

i’m having the same problem also.
wordpress: fix it soon pls!!!
for now, i have to go back to “latest posts on the front page” instead of static page until this is resolved. :(

I’m having the same problem. It was working fine yesterday (April 6) but today my blog page is showing the 404 error. I didn’t change anything either. Hope it gets fixed soon.

It’s best if you leave a direct link to the blog page you’re trying to get to. Some haven’t even left links to their blogs, which leaves us guessing.

UPDATE: it seems to be fixed now. thnx wordpress! (hopefully, i’m not speaking too soon)
