  Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response. keep getting this, new to all this and need assistance

  This site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. This is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  As it isn’t connected to our system here on WordPress.com, we’re unable to see why that error message occurred during the update.

  However if you would want us to have that sort of access, to provide daily backups, and our 24/7 support service (among other things), you could of course migrate over from your current host and use our Business plan! We have information about all that it offers here:
