getting going
-
I have used Google Blogger for many years, my local blog contained about 100 posts.
In between times I have also opened a WordPress blog and kept it on a much smaller scale. I also own two personal domain names.
I recently decided to give up on Google and transferred all of my work to WP, submitting the relevant fee for the Package.
All of my stuff transferred OK, but there seems to be some confusion with my addresses and I cannot now get into the blog apart from occasionally on my phone. I have two computers, an iMac mini and an Apple Mac and hoped that the Cloud would bring me a trouble free, synchronised, blog.
Now, after several days of being unable to use the blog, I am totally frustrated as to which way to go and seem to have been dumpeded by some earlier email communications.
Can anyone help me. or can I be advised as to how I can pull the plug on the whole lot and hopefully get my money back? -
Hi there,
As you mentioned you have paid for content transfer to WordPress.com, If you are using a paid plan then you can directly get in connect with WordPress.com staff through email or chat.
I am adding modlook tag for staff intervention.
They are the one who can provide you with an exact solution. Thanks !!!

Hi there,
On what site are you working? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com, and have never bought anything from us.
As you mentioned you have paid for content transfer to WordPress.com
Nowhere in their post does the OP say that. We also do not offer any service on WordPress.com where you can pay us to transfer your content here, and we never have. Please make sure you first understand what issue and site someone needs help with before promising them that staff can solve their issue for them.

I think so. But more details would help. You said:
and transferred all of my work to WP, submitting the relevant fee for the Package.
Did you pay WordPress.com or some other host? Perhaps you’re just logged in to the wrong account as staff say you don’t have any sites under this account you’re currently posting from. What is the full address of your blog?

At the outset, I am quite perplexed how such a large company can deal with its customers problems in such an odd way, I.e. geeks and and technos who seem to get some pleasure out of solving other people’s problems. I am 80 years of age and certainly no techie, but venturing on and attempting to get full measure from a vehicle to distribute the fruit of my hobby, I turned to the wonderful world of blogging. As stated, I do not speak your hyper-language, or wrestle with impossible situations to test my faculties and what I am asking for is purely to get me back to my simple version of blogging. As an example, I recently had great problems with a Cloud issue. I contacted Apple in Ireland and inside half an hour I had been guided, by phone, back to sanity. In contrast, I have attempted to get assistance from Word Press and only been guided by by would be saviours who have only exacerbated my frustration. So here goes:I run an Apple Mac-mini in conjunction with a Mac-Pro and use an Android smartphone and tablet. I use Google rather than Safari as a vehicle of choice. About eight years ago, I took what for me was a big step and learned how to set up and use Google Blogger in which I received quite a decent flow of traffic from around the world. About three years ago, I set up with a second blog, this time with Word Press; eventualIy I purchased two domain names and gave one to each of my blogs (johnjohnmcquaid.uk and jmcquaid.uk – (fairly techie step for me!) – the latter which I used with my WordPress Blog. My interest waned for a while and as Blogger began to show a lack of purpose and talk of amalgamations, I made the decision on May 10th this year, to transfer my affections to Word Press, signing up to the ‘Premium’ option. For this I paid, with discount, $76. All seemed well and I even took the big step of transferring the whole of my data from Blogger, which was for me, a great success. Now, my problem is a little harder to explain and it is one of the main reasons that I am so vexed over being unable to ask someone who holds my account, to link up and find the reason why. For a while, I was able to sign in and happily, as well as editing, I managed to write up a sample post. Now, each time I log in with the app logo, I get the welcome to WordPress message, telling me that I don’t yet have a website and asking me if I would like to sign up, also, If I dial up jmcquaid.uk , my blog comes up but any attempt to move on, returns to the welcome page and refuses to accept my existence. There are related problems with different email addresses being used and possibly two separate site addresses, each blocking the other, suggesting the need for some proper synchronisation. It is pretty obvious that my blog is still there, I just can’t access it and I would have thought that this would have been simple for someone at source to trace. I am wasting precious hours and losing much respect for my treatment and ask finally, not of the forum, but of someone in charge of the factory, to please assist or perhaps I should close the account.
Another evening wasted!

Hi @mcquaid0811, these forums are primarily for free sites. That’s why volunteers answer questions.
It sounds to me like you must have a paid site under another account. We’ll reach out via email to see if we can help you figure out how to log into it.
