Getting help with my Website

  • Unknown's avatar

I recently had an independent contractor redo my business Website in WordPress. I used the wonderful old Adobe Contribute for over 20 years and found WordPress extremely difficult to use but have become hesitantly accustomed to it. Still, I find it very frustrating but it’s working OK. The contractor I used has disappeared and I have a few problems that need to be fixed, mostly small stuff like line spacing, type size and formatting, etc. and need some help in figuring out how to make these adjustments. I was also told not to update my WordPress software but I see regular requests to do so plus this PHP thing whatever that is. Do I update or not? I would really like to speak or work with someone who can help me “fine tune and finish” my site. I do not know the functional differences between WordPress, Avada and Fusion Builder. It might be helpful to know those distinctions. Finding support help on the WordPress Website has been an emotional disaster…sorry.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear that you’ve been having trouble.

I’ve checked out your site at shakerworkswest2.com and it appears that it’s not hosted by us (WordPress.com). It is using the open-source WordPress software and is hosted by GoDaddy. Therefore, you need to contact them regarding your issue.

We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us. For help with your site you can also ask over at the WordPress.org forums:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and the open-source WordPress software you can read this article: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
