Getting Initially Started

Hi there people. I am very new to WordPress and my question is somewhat vague however I hope I can provide enough information to be led in the right direction. I want to make a website that abides very specific requirements. In the menu bar, there needs to be a ‘login’ tab, where members of ‘Harambee’ (the website that is being created) can login. Then, when logged in, there needs to be what I suppose we could call a list. This list includes all the names of the members of ‘Harambee’ and when you click on someones name here, it needs to display all of their achievements. I want this website to look profressional and I am hoping that I can be led in the right direction as to whether WordPress can do this or not. Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi benrobison11,

On WordPress.com you can create a members only area, but it requires creating two sites, as well as having a custom domain name and a subdomain (here’s a link to a tutorial).

However the further customisations (showing a list of all members and then providing member information upon clicking on their names) would require custom functionality not possible within a free plan. The business plan allows you to upload plugins, and you may find a plugin that provides this functionality.
